Determination of Skid Resistance Values

With the Griptester Mk2 device located in the KOMSA equipment park, slip resistance measurements are made in Highway Pavements and Airport Pavements according to the CEN/TS 15901-7 standard.

Skid Resistance Measuring Equipment

KOMSA CEN/TS 15901-7 Skid Resistance Measurement Equipment has high repeatability values and can continuously measure the friction resistance of the road surface dynamically.
The equipment can measure wet and dry conditions and can be used on all road types. It can make measurements in accordance with CEN/TS 15901-7:2010 standards and the data obtained as a result of the measurement can be correlated with the ASTM E 274 Skid Resistance Equipment.
Since the measuring wheel rotates 15% slower than the vehicle speed during the measurement, instead of completely locking, simulates today’s technology ABS braking systems better and makes measurements.
The data obtained with the GPS system integrated into the vehicle can be viewed with map reporting on the analysis software and integrated into the Pavement Management System software.
In addition to regular reporting in accordance with the regulations of the General Directorate of Highways, report presentations are also prepared on maps and in graphical representation.
