Modified Bitumen

Dow/DuPont Elvaloy is a specially designed asphalt modification product, Polymer Modified Bitumen Additive, that reacts with bitumen to form a permanent bond, eliminating the segregation problem seen in other modification solutions. Bitumen modified with Elvaloy can be stored for months without decomposition.

Advantages:

• When using Elvaloy, traditional mixing and spreading machines are used.
• The resulting hot mixture is easy to spread and easily compressed.
• There is no obligation to use a mill during modification, and the bitumen can be mixed and modified in the conventional storage tanks.
• Elvaloy can be easily mixed with hot bitumen.
• Elvaloy has a very low usage rate of 1.6-1.8% compared to traditional modifiers that need to be added to the bitumen at approximately 5%.
• Bitumen modified with Elvaloy can be produced quickly in large quantities and stored at lower temperatures than modified bitumens prepared with other additives; For these reasons, energy consumption is quite low.
